To ensure the provision and maintenance of municipal infrastructure to implement capital, rehabilitative and maintenance projects for the community of uMlalazi Municipality as in terms of Civil Engineering.
Town planning service and to assume responsibility for the duties as laid down by the OSH Act, 1993 (Act Net. 85 of 1993) and the Engineering Profession of South Africa Act, 1990 (Act No. 46 of 2000).
To ensure the provision and maintenance of a comprehensive electrical service and to assume responsibility for the duties as laid down by Regulation No 2(1) of the General Machinery regulations of the OSH Act.
Offer technical input into the Integrated Development Plan (I DP). Provide administrative leadership for the Department.
Set Engineering standards and monitor compliance. Perform all functions and duties of the Municipal Infrastructure Development as required by current legislation and regulations.
Engineering Services coordinates infrastructure development, maintenance, electricity, fleet management, planning and municipal asset support.
Developing, maintaining and rehabilitating municipal roads, streets and stormwater infrastructure.
Supporting infrastructure planning, Municipal Infrastructure Grant projects and technical programme implementation.
Providing internal fleet management services and technical support for municipal vehicles and machinery.
Providing electricity and maintaining electrical services and distribution infrastructure.
Maintaining municipal buildings, structures and property infrastructure to support safe and effective service delivery.
Supporting engineering planning through effective GIS, data management and technical information systems.
