Planning, delivering and maintaining municipal infrastructure, electricity networks, roads, stormwater systems and municipal assets across uMlalazi Municipality.
The Directorate is responsible for Streets and Stormwater, Planning and Support Services, Mechanical Services, Electrical Network Services, Electrical Planning, Municipal Buildings and Property Maintenance.
Planning and Support Services include Municipal Infrastructure Grant projects and related support services, while Mechanical Services provides fleet management services.
Electrical Network Services is responsible for the provision of electricity and maintenance of electrical services across the municipal area.
The Directorate provides technical leadership, infrastructure planning, capital project implementation, maintenance services and engineering support that enable sustainable municipal development.
Engineering Services coordinates infrastructure development, maintenance, electricity, fleet management, planning and municipal asset support.

Assume responsibility for duties related to electrical machinery and electrical service operations under applicable OHS regulations.
Provide technical input into the Municipality's Integrated Development Plan and infrastructure priorities.
Set engineering standards and monitor compliance across municipal infrastructure programmes.
Perform municipal infrastructure development functions required by current legislation and regulations.
